The role requires extensive wine knowledge, 2+ years of wine-waiting experience in luxury settings, strong communication, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays at sea.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Wine Waiter in a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel.
• Extensive knowledge of different types of wines, regions, and vintages.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle guest inquiries professionally.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be at least 21 and hold an alcohol service certification.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and assist with wine selections onboard the cruise ship.
• Provide recommendations on wine pairings based on guest preferences and menu offerings.
• Ensure wine orders are accurately taken and delivered promptly.
• Maintain extensive knowledge of the wine list and answer guest questions.
• Work with the sommelier to manage wine inventory and restock as needed.
• Keep the wine cellar and bar area clean and organized.
• Provide exceptional customer service and guest satisfaction.
• Participate in wine training and educational sessions to improve knowledge.
• Follow company policies including responsible alcohol service guidelines.
