Job summary

JW Marriott Nashville is seeking a Catering Sales Manager to prospect, sell and negotiate catered events at the hotel. You will conduct venue tours, schedule tastings, and serve as the main contact between clients and the hotel throughout preplanning and execution.

The role requires extensive knowledge of event planning, food & beverage, and the ability to collaborate with operations to ensure flawless events from pre-arrival to post-departure.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of event planning and management.
• Strong culinary and beverage knowledge and interest.
• Knowledge of hotel guest room inventory.
• Ability to forecast revenues and manage client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute contract terms for groups/conventions/programs as outlined by the Sales Manager and JW Marriott standards.
• Maximize food, beverage and ancillary revenues by selling menus, themes and experiences.
• Communicate details of groups/conventions to all departments using resumes, Banquet Event Orders and internal correspondence.
• Establish close working relationships with clients and JW Marriott Nashville employees.
• Efficiently reserve and utilize function space to maximize revenues while minimizing space consumption.
• Facilitate pre-conference meetings with clients and hotel staff.
