Job summary

Fairmont New Orleans is seeking a Server Assistant for The Café by Chef Emeril, to support servers and deliver luxury hospitality.

You will set and reset tables, assist with food and beverage delivery, maintain cleanliness, and help guests with requests; you will work alongside culinary, stewarding, and leadership to provide polished service.

This role emphasizes guest experience, teamwork, flexibility, and adherence to Fairmont standards and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in restaurant, hotel, or F&B preferred.
• Experience in luxury or high-volume dining preferred.
• Strong guest service orientation.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain professional, calm, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced dining environment.
• Professional appearance and presentation.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Food safety certification or willingness to obtain within the established timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, professional, engaging service while representing Fairmont New Orleans.
• Assist Servers with delivery of food, beverages, and guest requests.
• Maintain knowledge of the café menu, beverages, and service standards.
• Set and reset tables according to standards and outlet specs.
• Keep service stations and guest areas clean, stocked, and presentable.
• Clear and reset tables promptly with discretion during service.
• Assist with pre-bussing, clearing dishes, and refilling water.
• Anticipate guest and Server needs throughout the service period.
• Assist with running food from kitchen to dining room and deliver to correct tables.
• Communicate effectively with team to ensure smooth service.
• Support service flow between kitchen, stations, and dining room.
• Handle, transport, and organize china, glassware, silverware, and service equipment.
• Assist with opening/closing duties and daily briefings as required.
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures and participate in special events as needed.
• Provide personalized service for VIP guests and guests needing extra help.
• Maintain guest privacy and a professional demeanor at all times.
