Job Description
- Consistently provide warm, professional, friendly, and engaging servicein accordance withFairmont and The Café by Chef Emeril standards.
- Create welcoming and memorable guest experiences byanticipatingneeds and providing attentive, personalized service.
- Demonstrate complete knowledge of outlet policies, procedures, service standards, and steps of service.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of The Café menu, including breakfast and lunch offerings, pastries, desserts, sandwiches, salads, specialty items, and daily features.
- Maintain knowledge of coffee, espresso, specialty beverages, juices, teas, and other beverage offerings.
- Understand ingredients, preparation methods, garnishes, allergens, dietary restrictions, andappropriate menurecommendations.
- Assistguests with menu selections and confidently answer questionsregardingingredients, preparation, and beverage offerings.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Chef Emeril Lagasse's culinary style and the New Orleans influences represented throughout The Café.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders and communicate special requests, allergies, and modifications to theappropriate culinaryteam.
- Deliver food and beverages promptly whilemaintainingproper presentation, quality, temperature, and timing.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience and proactively address needs or concerns.
- Present guest checks and accurately process cash, credit card, and other forms of paymentin accordance withestablished procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, dining areas, and other guest-facing spaces.
- Assistwith setting, clearing, and resetting tables and service areas throughout the shift.
- Attend pre-shift meetings, tastings, training sessions, and departmental meetings to continually develop product knowledge and service skills.
- Maintain familiarity with Fairmont New Orleans amenities, services, outlets, events, and local attractions toassistguests with inquiries.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, responsible alcohol service, and workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, pressed, and professional uniform and polished appearance consistent with Fairmont standards.
- Assistwith opening and closing duties, stocking, side work, and other operational responsibilities as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with Culinary, Stewarding, Host, and other Food & Beverage colleagues to ensure seamless service.
- Uphold the hospitality and culinary standards associated with Chef Emeril Lagasse and Fairmont New Orleans.
- Performadditionalduties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previousrestaurant, café, hotel, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Luxury hotel or upscale dining experience is an asset.
- Passion for food, beverage, coffee, and creating exceptional guest experiences.
- Strong communicationand interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop detailed knowledge of menu and beverage offerings.
- Professional, personable, and service-oriented demeanor.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to remain composed and attentive during high-volume service periods.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- PreviousPOS experience is an asset; training will be provided.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as operationallyrequired.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Mustpossessor be able to obtain required Louisiana food safety certifications.
