Job summary

Keswick Hall, a 80-room luxury boutique hotel at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, seeks a Bell Captain to lead the bell services team. The role oversees luggage handling, lobby flow, guest transportation coordination and bell stand operations while upholding exceptional hospitality standards.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, greeting guests, coordinating luggage moves, and collaborating with Front Desk, Concierge and Valet teams to ensure seamless service.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, organization and time-management skills.
• Previous experience in hotel, resort, valet, bell services, concierge or guest services is preferred.
• Ability to lead by example, motivate a team and remain calm during busy periods.
• Knowledge of hotel operations, local area information and guest service standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise bell attendants, door attendants and related guest services team members.
• Greet guests upon arrival and departure with prompt, courteous service.
• Coordinate luggage delivery, storage, room moves, group arrivals and departures.
• Maintain an organized bell stand, lobby entrance and guest-facing workspaces.
• Assign daily tasks and adjust staffing based on occupancy and events.
• Coordinate with Front Desk, Concierge, Valet, Housekeeping, Security and Transportation teams for seamless service.
• Provide accurate information about hotel amenities and local attractions.
• Respond to guest concerns promptly and professionally.
• Maintain control of luggage tags, logs, equipment and carts.
• Train new team members on service standards and safety procedures.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies and brand standards.
• Assist with reports, shift notes and guest requests.
