Job summary

Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa is seeking an experienced bartender to deliver timely, accurate, and friendly service while crafting high-quality cocktails. The role requires knowledge of beer, wine and spirits, bar setup, and adherence to safety standards.

Candidates should have 3+ years in a 4- or 5-star resort, TIPS and San Diego County Food Handlers Card, and strong English communication. Must be 21+ with the ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years bartender experience in a 4 or 5 star resort environment.
Cash handling and point of sale experience (Micros preferred).
TIPS certification.
Valid San Diego County Food Handlers Card.
Strong knowledge and enforcement of ABC laws.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
Ability to communicate in English with vendors, guests and staff.

Responsibilities

Set-up bar including all liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware and supplies.
Prepare and serve beverages promptly and professionally per established standards.
Greet guests pleasantly at the banquet bar.
Adhere to pouring standards and drink recipes to maintain consistency and control costs.
Monitor cleanliness, sanitation and organization of service areas.
Work quickly and safely at all times.
Maintain compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
Be familiar with hotel services and local attractions to respond to inquiries.
Participate in Safety Programs and injury reporting.
Support community service, sustainability and environmental initiatives.
Perform other duties as directed.
