Job summary

Onni is seeking an Appliance Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential appliances across multifamily properties in Chicago. You will handle diverse units, including refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers, and more, while complying with safety standards.

You will work with European and high-end appliances (Bosch, Blomberg) and communicate repair timelines clearly to residents and property staff. EPA 608 certification is required or obtainable within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years hands-on appliance repair experience (or trade school/apprenticeship).
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and wiring diagrams.
• EPA Section 608 certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose appliance malfunctions using diagrams and tools.
• Repair and replace faulty parts in refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers, washers, dryers, microwaves.
• Service European/high-end appliances (Bosch, Blomberg) per manufacturer specs.
• Inspect and repair gas appliances and venting.
• Handle refrigerants per EPA 608 and company policy.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
• Communicate repair timelines and recommendations to residents and management.
• Complete accurate service documentation.
