Onni Group of Companies is seeking an Appliance Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential appliances across properties in Chicago. You will work with residents, property staff, and management to troubleshoot issues using wiring diagrams, schematics, and diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on appliance repair experience or equivalent training.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and reading wiring diagrams.
• EPA Section 608 certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Brand-specific training in Bosch, Blomberg, Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, or LG preferred.
• Experience servicing European and high-end appliances preferred.
• Experience with gas appliances and venting preferred.
• Experience in multifamily property management settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose appliance malfunctions using wiring diagrams and diagnostic tools.
• Repair and replace faulty parts in refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, and more.
• Service European and high-end appliances following manufacturer specs.
• Inspect gas appliances and venting per code and safety standards.
• Handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA 608 regulations.
• Maintain preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
• Communicate repair options and timelines to residents and management.
• Document service calls accurately and thoroughly.
• Prioritize and manage daily service requests to meet response times.
