Job summary

Mandarin Oriental New York is seeking a Substitute Bar Server to join our Food and Beverage team at The Bar. Based in NYC, you will support the bar operation, assist guests with menu selections, and ensure flawless service in a luxury setting.

You will maintain cleanliness, handle orders in the POS, respect liquor regulations, and work as part of a close-knit team to deliver legendary experiences. A minimum of 3 years in a luxury bar role is required, with excellent English and guest-focused

Qualifications

Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar position in luxury setting.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Knowledge of cocktails and wine.

Responsibilities

Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials cocktails.
Record details of orders and ensure accuracy; deliver with appropriate condiments.
Maintain the service area clean and organized; keep tables wiped down.
Adhere to all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations; monitor for minors and intoxicated guests.
Set up and close out service areas; assist with side work and restock supplies.
Enter and close out sales in POS; ensure final bill accuracy.
