Job summary

UPMC is offering a Lung Transplant Fellowship in Pennsylvania to a Heart & Lung Transplant Fellow. The role focuses on advanced training across two high-volume services, with graded independence under the division co-chiefs.

The fellowship is rotation-based, and the fellow will teach junior fellows and residents, contributing to bedside teaching and case-based education. The position emphasizes surgical management, multidisciplinary collaboration, and involvement in conferences, patient care

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of heart and lung transplant inpatients, including pre-, intra-, and postoperative care, ICU rounding, and discharge planning.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with transplant cardiology, pulmonology, and other teams.
• Participate in organ offers/list management, conferences, operative planning, and OR participation for transplant procedures.
• Engage in quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives within the transplant programs.
• Participate in call as assigned.
