Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking a Lunchtime Supervisor for Etherley Lane Nursery and Primary School in Durham. This fixed-term, part-time role runs 7.5 hours per week, starting as soon as possible, with a retainer for school closure periods in line with NJC Green Book.

The successful candidate will supervise pupils at lunchtime, lead activities, support behaviour management, and promote safety and welfare. DBS disclosure is required, with disability accommodations available where possible.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or in a school setting.
• Ability to work well in a team and follow school procedures.
• Willing to undertake training as required by the school.
• Essential: clear spoken English for customer interactions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during lunchtime in the dining hall and outdoor areas.
• Lead Lunchtime Supervisory Assistants in organising play activities.
• Support behaviour management and ensure safety and welfare of pupils during lunchtimes.
• Comply with school policies and equality procedures.
