Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Thermal Engineer to join the Lunar Core Components Heat Transfer team. You will apply your expertise to develop thermal hardware for lunar landers and drive designs through build, test, and verification cycles.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and a track record in spacecraft thermal control hardware design and development. Travel up to 20% and relocation support are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field.
• MS degree preferred for advanced roles.
• 5+ years of related experience in thermal engineering or space hardware.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build consensus.

Responsibilities

• Define and decompose vehicle thermal requirements into actionable specs.
• Develop ICDs and ensure subsystem compatibility and integration fidelity.
• Own heat transfer component artifacts and related documents.
• Conduct trade studies and make/buy decisions for hardware.
• Lead verification planning including environmental testing and simulations.
• Participate in hardware design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).
• Support integration, test, and launch operations; assist anomaly resolution.
