Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a software engineer for the Lunar Permanence unit in Florida. You will develop and verify software requirements and test cases for lunar lander software, collaborating with flight software, systems, and test engineers to ensure safe, reliable spaceflight.

Role emphasizes state machines, controls theory, and MATLAB/Simulink exposure, with a focus on HIL/SIL testing and fault management in a cross-functional engineering team environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a relevant engineering or computer science field or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years professional experience.
• Experience with C/C++ or Python scripting.
• Demonstrated experience developing software requirements and test cases.

Responsibilities

• Develop test cases and scripts against software requirements.
• Write and maintain software requirements, verification plans, and test cases for owned scope.
• Participate in fault management discussions and contribute to FMEA-driven requirements for subsystems.
• Support HIL/SIL test setup and execution; author test procedures independently.
• Collaborate with flight software, systems, and test engineers to develop software verification test plans.
• Develop tool, test, and verification software as needed.
