Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an Avionics Components Test Engineer for the Lunar Core Components team to own test scope, develop plans, and execute campaigns across multiple motor control units used in crewed lunar missions.

You will work with Responsible Engineers, interface with NASA, and contribute to test infrastructure, evaluating controllers for performance, fault tolerance, and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• B.S./B.A. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years hands-on testing/integration of electronic systems or devices.
• Knowledge of electronics and circuit fundamentals.
• Experience writing and executing test plans in a structured environment.
• Familiarity with motor controller behavior including FDIR, safe states, and built-in tests.
• Experience with environmental qualification tests (thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC).
• Ability to read schematics, ICDs, and requirements documents.

Responsibilities

• Own the test scope for Motor Control units and collaborate with REs to understand requirements.
• Plan, write, and execute test plans for dev, risk reduction, qualification, and acceptance testing.
• Support bench bring-up and hardware characterization with the design team.
• Define and execute HIL test strategies where applicable.
• Support environmental test campaigns and anomaly resolution.
• Track test evidence to requirements and manage test reports for qualification.
