Job summary

Parr Lumber Company operates a retail lumberyard and supplies building materials to professional builders. This Lumber Yard Associate role is based in Rochester, WA, and requires safe loading of materials for customers, forklift use, inventory checks, and yard upkeep.

You will work outdoors in all weather conditions, stock products, and assist customers while maintaining safety standards. The position offers full-time hours and a pathway for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• OSHA Certified Forklift License preferred.
• Ability to speak, write, and read English required.
• Knowledge of receiving/inventory control principles, practices and protocols.
• Knowledge of dimension lumber and panel products and other building materials.
• Ability to read and interpret picking tickets and invoices.
• Ability to concentrate and attend to detail amidst a busy work environment.
• General knowledge and use of power tools.

Responsibilities

• Safely, accurately and efficiently load customer vehicles with orders of building materials.
• Ensure that appropriate paperwork is completed as per company policy.
• Receive delivered inventory by properly inspecting paperwork for accuracy and by depositing inventory in designated locations.
• Inspect stock and returned items to ensure salable quality.
• Puts stock away in the correct location and neatly.
• Provides required paperwork for change orders.
• Completes inventory adjustments.
• Operates forklift and loads stock as needed.
• Keeps yard and inventory organized and clean.
• Greet and assist customers and answer questions about products.
