Job summary

Tahlequah Lumber Co Inc. is seeking a Yard Associate to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced lumberyard.

You will help customers, answer questions, locate merchandise, and assist with loading vehicles while maintaining a clean and safe environment. You will learn product knowledge across departments, support inventory tasks, and collaborate with yard staff to deliver reliable service to the community.

Qualifications

• Outstanding customer service skills and professional attitude.
• Strong communication and listening abilities.
• Organized, self-starter who can work independently.
• Good math, reading, and writing skills.
• Knowledge of sales techniques and product knowledge.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift and lift up to 80lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by helping customers in person or by phone and assisting with add-on sales.
• Know POS systems for price lookups, special orders, and order entry.
• Maintain a clean and orderly lumberyard with regular housekeeping tasks.
• Notify customers about promotions and new products.
• Assist in inventory counts and loading customers' vehicles as needed.
• Help with daily upkeep of lumber stacks and store operations.
• Be vigilant against shoplifting and follow store policy actions.
• Attend staff meetings and adhere to store policies and safety standards.
