Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a general labor associate to safely handle lumber products and verify materials meet customer requirements and company expectations. The role involves moving, stacking, labeling, tagging, and securing materials, while maintaining inventory accuracy and clean work areas.

Applicants should be at least 18 years old, with no mandatory experience, though lumber/manufacturing familiarity is preferred and basic math is advantageous.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• No minimum experience required; lumber or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products according to instructions.
• Stack finished products by predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
• Label material based on type, size, and count.
• Apply individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
• Operate a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
• Band, bundle and secure material, including corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Follow stacking instructions per policy and customer requirements.
• Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area.
• Maintain inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Record production on production sheets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist in other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
