Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a general labor associate to safely handle lumber products and verify material meets customer requirements and company standards. The role involves moving, stacking, labeling, tagging, and securing lumber, with attention to inventory and production records.

The position emphasizes maintaining a clean work area, supporting other areas as needed, and participating in safety and process-improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
• Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
• Label material based on type, size, and count.
• Apply tags to material before/after treating/production.
• Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
• Band, bundle and secure material, including corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Follow stacking instructions per policy and customer requirements.
• Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Record production on production sheets.
• Keep a clean, organized work area.
• Assist with other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
