Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a General Laborer to safely handle lumber products and verify that materials meet customer requirements and company expectations.

You will move and secure lumber and other materials, stack finished products, label by type, size and count, apply tags, use a staple gun, band loads, and maintain an organized work area while recording production and assisting with loading and unloading. Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
  • No minimum experience required; manufacturing or lumber experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Basic math skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
  • Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
  • Labels material based on type, size, and count.
  • Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
  • Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment.
  • Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks.
  • Follows stacking instructions to meet company policy and customer requirements.
  • Maintains inventory of tags and reports discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Records production on production sheets.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Assists with loading/unloading and moving material carts.
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as required.
