Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a general laborer to safely handle lumber products and verify that materials meet customer requirements and company expectations. The role involves stacking, labeling, tagging, and securing materials, as well as inventory and production recordkeeping.

A strong emphasis on safety and teamwork is key. Responsibilities include moving materials, using staple guns, and assisting in various areas as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products according to instructions.
• Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
• Label material based on type, size, and count.
• Apply individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
• Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
• Band, bundle and secure material, including corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Follow stacking and labeling procedures per company policy and customer requirements.
• Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report any problems or discrepancies to supervisor.
• Record production on production sheets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
