Job summary

Cargomatic is seeking a DLTL & Truckload Specialist to act as the hands-on engine behind freight movement. You will source carriers, work load boards, negotiate rates, and turn quotes around quickly to protect margins.

You will price FTL and LTL opportunities, maintain lane discipline, and ensure carrier compliance while collaborating with sales, dispatch, and customer service to keep shipments flowing.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in freight brokerage, carrier sales, or transportation operations.
• Hands-on carrier sourcing and rate negotiation experience.
• Working knowledge of load boards (DAT/TRUCKSTOP) and a TMS.
• Comfort pricing FTL and LTL freight with lane analysis and market rates.
• Strong negotiation instincts and ability to cover freight under time pressure.
• Familiarity with carrier compliance basics including insurance and FMCSA safety.

Responsibilities

• Source carriers and develop contracted capacity to reduce spot spend.
• Live on load boards, source pricing, negotiate market rates, and cover difficult freight.
• Price FTL and LTL opportunities using lane history and market conditions.
• Maintain margin and lane discipline; propose repricing ideas.
• Ensure carrier compliance: insurance, operating authority, safety ratings.
• Collaborate with sales, dispatch, and customer service to move bookings smoothly.
