Job summary

Cargomatic moves freight across full truckload, over-the-road, local, and LTL, with most activity centralized in our marketplace and dedicated shorthaul book. This role is the hands-on engine behind that movement, sourcing carriers, working the load boards, negotiating rates, and covering freight before it becomes a fire drill.

You will price FTL and LTL opportunities and turn quotes around fast for sales, maintaining capacity and margin.

Qualifications

2+ years in freight brokerage, carrier sales, or transportation operations.
Hands-on carrier sourcing and rate negotiation.
Familiarity with load boards (DAT, Truckstop, or equivalent) and a TMS.
Comfort pricing FTL and LTL freight.
Strong negotiation instincts under time pressure.
Familiarity with carrier compliance basics: insurance verification, operating authority, FMCSA safety ratings.
Solid Excel and data fluency.

Responsibilities

Carrier sourcing and development, recruiting and onboarding FTL and OTR carriers.
Marketplace and capacity coverage using load boards; negotiate daily market rates.
Pricing and quote support for FTL and LTL; get quotes back to sales quickly.
Maintain lane discipline and protect margins on loads.
Ensure carrier compliance, insurance, safety ratings, and onboarding steps.
Cross-functional collaboration with sales, dispatch, and customer service to move bookings through delivery.
