Job summary

Cargomatic in Long Beach, CA is seeking a hands-on Carrier Sourcing & Operations Specialist to fuel our freight marketplace. You’ll source carriers, price FTL/LTL, negotiate rates, and cover freight to keep capacity tight and margins strong.

You’ll live on load boards and our TMS, monitor lanes for cost efficiency, ensure carrier compliance, and collaborate with sales, dispatch, and customer service to move bookings as one flow.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in freight brokerage, carrier sales, or transportation operations.
• Hands-on carrier sourcing and rate negotiation.
• Familiarity with load boards (DAT/Truckstop) and a TMS.
• Ability to price FTL and LTL with lane history and market rates.
• Strong negotiation instincts and attention to margin.

Responsibilities

• Source carriers and develop contracted capacity for key lanes.
• Live on load boards to price and cover rates, reducing spot spend.
• Price FTL/LTL using lane history, fuel, and accessorials.
• Monitor margins and propose repricing and carrier utilization ideas.
• Ensure carrier compliance: insurance, operating authority, FMCSA safety.
