Job summary

Central Transport LLC is seeking a hands-on operations leader to oversee outbound terminal activities in Providence, RI. You will manage loading, forklift movement, and the unloading of palletized freight, ensuring safety, accuracy, and on-time performance.

Responsibilities include directing up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock staff, monitoring cube/weight, driving KPI results, and maintaining OSHA-compliant safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation, cross docking, or shipping/receiving environments (LTL preferred).
• Strong leadership qualities and drive for operational excellence.
• Desire to surround customers with excellence in service.
• High aptitude for technology and process improvement.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outbound operations for your designated section of the terminal dock.
• This includes loading, forklift traffic management, and unloading palletized freight.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production goals.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring cube and trailer weight.
• Provide leadership and accountability to drivers, dock workers and dock hands.
• Monitor dock production to meet or exceed KPI goals.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers.
