Job summary

Central Transport is seeking a Terminal Manager in Stoughton, MA to oversee dock operations and lead a team of drivers and dock workers. The role requires strong leadership, a tech mindset, and the ability to manage loading, unloading, and palletized freight while ensuring safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has prior LTL management experience, excellent communication, and a willingness to work about 50 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Prior LTL management experience strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees.
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service.
• High aptitude for technology.
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented.
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work 50 hours/week average.
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dock operations at the terminal.
• This includes the process of loading & unloading freight, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain terminal staff.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers and dock workers.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts as business levels increase.
