Job summary

FLS Transportation seeks an organized, customer-focused LTL Operations Coordinator to manage day-to-day LTL shipments from quote to delivery. You will quote, book, dispatch, and coordinate pickups with carrier partners while ensuring accurate data entry in the TMS.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in LTL/logistics, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency with Excel and Outlook. This role emphasizes timely communication with customers and internal teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in LTL transportation, freight brokerage, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Strong understanding of LTL carrier networks, rating structures, and service offerings.
• Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and freight platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage all daily LTL shipment activities from order receipt through delivery.
• Prepare and provide accurate and competitive customer rate quotes.
• Book and dispatch LTL shipments with approved carrier partners.
• Coordinate pickups, deliveries, appointment scheduling, and special service requirements.
• Ensure shipment information is entered accurately into transportation management systems (TMS).
• Monitor shipments from pickup through final delivery.
• Proactively track and trace shipments to identify potential service issues or delays.
• Communicate shipment updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Resolve service failures and coordinate corrective actions with carriers.
• Review carrier invoices for accuracy and compliance with quoted rates.
• Generate and process customer invoices in a timely manner.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Support profitability goals through accurate rating and cost management.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external partners.
• Ensure carrier performance meets service expectations and company standards.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and responsiveness.
• Support sales initiatives by providing operational expertise and shipment solutions.
