The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA assists in implementing individualized treatment plans to improve residents’ mobility, strength, balance, and overall function.
Provide physical therapy services to residents following the plan of care set by the Physical Therapist
Assist in evaluations and treatment planning, including short-term and long-term goals
Conduct individual and group therapy sessions covering exercises, gait training, balance, range of motion, and other modalities
Monitor resident response to therapy and report modifications to the Physical Therapist
Assist with resident schedules and coordinate therapy activities with the care team
Educate residents, families, and staff on therapy techniques and safe use of equipment
Maintain compliant and accurate documentation in NetHealth EMR per CMS regulations
Demonstrate sound clinical judgment and professional accountability during all interventions
Associates Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
Active New Jersey Physical Therapy Assistant license
Commitment to continuing education and professional development
Long-term care experience is a plus
Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills
