Job summary

Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County in Texas seeks an LRV Technician to diagnose and repair hydraulic and electronic systems on light rail vehicles. You will read schematics, use portable test equipment, and perform fault analysis using OEM wiring diagrams and software tools.

Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing subsystems, entering work orders, and ensuring safety procedures. Requires a Texas Class B CDL with air brake endorsement, a high school diploma, and 1–3 years

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree preferred.
• Texas Class B CDL with air brake endorsement is required.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical/electronic schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with diagnostic fault history and software tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works with Rail Operations to achieve high on-time performance.
• Inspects, diagnoses, tests and repairs rail vehicle systems and equipment.
• Performs faults analysis and component repairs down to line replaceable units.
• Uses OEM diagrams and schematics to repair wiring and electronics.
• Enters work orders and maintains maintenance documentation.
• Adheres to safety rules and agency safety plan requirements.
