Job summary

Valley Metro RPTA is seeking a skilled technician to maintain and repair Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs), focusing on electrical, electronic and mechanical systems. The role is safety-sensitive and requires compliance with the Drug and Alcohol Program.

Starting pay spans 29.96 to 37.45 per hour with a shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts. The job involves diagnosing complex systems, updating software and ensuring safe, reliable LRV operation.

Qualifications

• HSD/GED required.
• 3 years electro-mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience with electrical/electronic diagnostics and repairs.
• Able to pass pre-employment medical and drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot and repair LRV systems and components.
• Identify and gather parts; use diagnostic equipment; maintain logs.
• Update operating software to ensure LRV performance.
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance of tools, parts and equipment.
• Cross-train and assist other employees or contractors.
