The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Huntsville Hospital Health System provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider. You will support diverse patient populations and document care while reinforcing education and collaborating with the care team.

Qualified candidates hold an Alabama (or multi-state) LPN license, are experienced or new graduates, and have BLS certification before orientation ends.

Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs a broad array of nursing tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider. The individual provides direct patient care for diverse patient populations that vary in gender, age, socioeconomic status, education, physical and mental abilities, locations, sexual lifestyle, and racial and ethnic background. The LPN implements technical nursing procedures according to established policies and procedures and plan of care, assists and reinforces routine patient education, and documents patient care appropriately. The LPN communicates and interacts with other team members to facilitate teamwork and delivery of quality care.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of State board School of Practical Nursing with current Alabama or multi-state licensure.

Experience: Experienced/New Graduate

Additional Skills/Abilities: BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period.
