Job summary

International SOS Government Medical Services in Montgomery, AL seeks an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to support referral management for specialty care in a military healthcare environment. You will coordinate referrals, educate patients, and collaborate with clinical teams to ensure timely access to care.

The role is full-time with a Monday–Friday schedule. Compensation is hourly with Health & Welfare benefits; requires an active LPN license and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.
• Current, valid, and unrestricted LPN license in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support certification (AHA or Red Cross).
• At least two years of broad-based clinical nursing experience in the past three years.
• Knowledge and computer literacy to apply medical-care criteria such as InterQual or Milliman Guidelines.
• Strong skills with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook; solid written, verbal, and electronic communication.

Responsibilities

• Review specialty care referrals for clinical appropriateness, administrative completeness, covered benefits, and required tests or preparation.
• Coordinate referrals and appointments with patients, referring providers, specialty clinics, and healthcare partners.
• Educate patients about referral procedures, laboratory requirements, appointments, diagnoses, and benefits.
• Initiate, monitor, and close referrals within established timelines with accurate documentation.
