Job summary

Qualifications

• Has completed the prescribed curricula of a practical nursing program or equivalent coursework approved by a state board of nursing.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and expresses sensitivity to patient needs.
• Assesses and documents general condition of patient incl. chief complaint, vital signs, weight, medications, social history and verifies symptoms.
• Records services and diagnoses for accurate completion of encounter forms, requisitions, consent forms and ABNs.
• Assists provider with examinations, procedures and treatments per protocols.
• Independently performs ancillary services including venipunctures, x-rays per protocols.
• Maintains medical records incl. preparation of charts and test results.
• Coordinates care via messaging, scheduling, prescription refills per protocols.
• Uses IDX, EMR and other computer applications per policies.
• Tracks ordered/pending tests, procedures and referrals per protocol.
• Administers medication orally and intramuscularly as directed.
• Determines eligibility and obtains authorization for services.
• Schedules tests/appointments for referred services.
• Tracks referrals for services.
• Promotes patient wellness through education as directed.
• Uses advanced clinical knowledge to resolve patient questions.
• Participates in quality initiatives and safety functions.
• Identifies and orders needed supplies.
• Stays informed/compliant with Health System, Warren Clinic, OSHA and HIPAA policies.
• Maintains exemplary patient satisfaction and team engagement.
