Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System invites LPNs to join a team delivering care within our nursing department. The selected candidate will apply the nursing process to an assigned patient group, using approved skills and judgment under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include administering medications per policy (with limits), performing bedside care, IV therapy under supervision, ADLs, documentation in EMR, and contributing to quality improvement and patient education while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED as prerequisite.
• Licensed and currently registered to practice as an LPN in New York State.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the nursing process for an assigned patient group.
• Demonstrates nursing skills and judgment under RN supervision.
• Administers medications as per nursing policy (excluding IV push via central line or first dose).
• Performs ADLs and direct patient care, with IV therapy under competency.
• Maintains documentation in the EMR and reports changes in patient condition.
• Contributes to Nursing Department Quality Improvement activities.
