Job summary

Essentia Health in Fargo, North Dakota, seeks a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or certified medical assistant (CMA) to support the West Acres Clinic urgent care and float to other Fargo-Mood area sites. The role runs 7:45 am–8:00 pm in a flex schedule with two shifts weekly.

Hours may flex upward as needed; weekends and on-call are not required, but a holiday rotation exists. Licensure requirements vary by role and jurisdiction; CNAs may need certification within timelines.

Qualifications

• LPN license in ND upon hire.
• CMA license/registration current or completion of CMA program; certification within one year; pass certification within two attempts.
• CMA must be registered as Medication Assistant III through the ND Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire/transfer; Clinical Assistant cannot administer medication before MAIII registration.

Responsibilities

• Assist RNs, physicians, and other providers; provide direct patient care in ambulatory/urgent care settings.
• Perform identified procedures for which competencies are demonstrated.
• Care for patients across all ages from newborn to elderly as applicable.

Essentia Health is seeking a licensed practical nurse or certified medical assistant to serve in the urgent care at our West Acres Clinic in Fargo, North Dakota. Floating to other urgent cares in the Fargo-Moorhead area will also be required. This LPN or CMA works 7:45 am to 8:00 pm, scheduled for two shifts a week. However, this is a flex position, and hours may be flexed upward without notice based on the needs of the facility. This position does not require weekends or on-call, but there will be a holiday rotation.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

• LPN: Current LPN license in the state of North Dakota upon hire.
• LPN: Minnesota LPN license required within 3 months of hire.
• CMA: Current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant OR verifiable completion of a Medical Assistant Program and must become certified withinone year of date of hire. Must pass certification withintwo attempts.
• CMA: Must be registered as a Medication Assistant III through the North Dakota Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire/transfer. Clinical Assistant can NOT administer medication prior to being registered as a MAIII through the ND BON.
• BOTH: AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
