Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a licensed practical nurse or certified medical assistant to support our endocrinology team at South University Clinic in Fargo, North Dakota. Hours are 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday with no weekend or on-call rotations.

You will assist RNs and providers, delivering direct patient care in ambulatory or home care settings, caring for patients from newborn to elderly, as competency allows.

Qualifications

• ND LPN license required at hire.
• MN LPN license required within 3 months.
• CMA: current registration or completion of CMA program and must become certified within one year of date of hire. Must pass certification within two attempts.
• CMA: Must be registered as a Medication Assistant III through the North Dakota Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire/transfer.
• BLS/ACLS basics (AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN, physician, and other providers; delivers direct patient care in ambulatory and/or home care settings; age range newborn to elderly as applicable.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

• LPN: A North Dakota LPN license is required upon hire.
• LPN: A Minnesota LPN license is required within 3 months of hire.
• CMA: Current registration or certification as a medical assistant OR verifiable completion of a medical assistant program and must become certified within one year of date of hire. Must pass certification within two attempts.
• CMA: Must be registered as a Medication Assistant III through the North Dakota Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire/transfer. A clinical assistant can NOT administer medication prior to being registered as an MA‑III through the ND BON.
• BOTH: AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required within 3 months of hire.
