Job summary

Essentia Health Walk-in Care — Bismarck is seeking a licensed practical nurse or certified medical assistant to join the Walk-In Clinic. This role works 36 hours per week on 3–12 hour shifts with every 3rd weekend/holiday rotation, providing direct patient care in an ambulatory setting under supervision of an RN/physician.

Required licenses include a North Dakota LPN or CMA/certification, with MA-III registration and BCLS within 3 months.

Qualifications

• Assists RN and physicians and provides direct patient care in ambulatory care.
• Performs identified procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated.
• Care for patients from newborn to elderly per age-related guidelines.

Job Description

Essentia Health is seeking a licensed practical nurse or certified medical assistant to serve in the Walk In Clinic, Bismarck ND. This LPN or CMA works 36 hours hours per week, 3-12 hour shifts and every 3rd weekend/holiday.

Education Qualifications

• Assists RN, Physician and other providers and provides direct patient care in the ambulatory care setting to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health.
• Will perform identified procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated.
• Cares for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted on age-related category.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications

• LPN: Current North Dakota LPN license required upon hire.
• CMA: Current registration or certification as a medical assistant OR verifiable completion of a medical assistant program and must become certified within one year of date of hire. Must pass certification within two attempts.
• CMA: Must be registered as a Medication Assistant III through the North Dakota Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire/transfer. A clinical assistant can NOT administer medication prior to being registered as an MA-III through the ND BON.
• BOTH: AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
