Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved LPN/LVN program.
• Current, active nursing license in the state.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
• Ensure that all nursing personnel comply with the facility's written policies and procedures.
• Review department policies, procedure manuals, and job descriptions; make recommendations for revisions.
• Plan shifts' services, programs, and activities with assigned staff.
• Maintain the Nursing Service Procedures Manual and ensure compliance with its procedures.
• Provide written and oral reports/recommendations about shift activities.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to maintain total care.
• Participate in development and maintenance of quality assurance in nursing services.
• Participate in facility surveys and discharge plan updates as required.
