Job summary

Baltimore City Public Schools is seeking a Teacher Vocational - Nursing Assistant to teach health occupations within a high school setting. The role involves planning, delivering, and evaluating a 100-hour instructional program combining didactic, lab, and clinical components.

You will prepare students for industry certification and manage classroom activities to support student success. The position requires an LPN license, two years of nursing experience (with elder care exposure preferred),

Qualifications

• Possession of a Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) license, issued by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
• Two years nursing experience, at least one year in geriatric or chronically ill care in the past 5 years.
• Completion of a course with a minimum of 16 hours in adult education (or two years of teaching experience).
• Experience in one or more major areas of nursing including Geriatric Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements instructional programs for CTE and health occupations.
• Monitors and assesses student achievement and maintains documentation.
• Prepares students for the CNA certification exam.
• Ensures classroom safety and manages student behavior.
• Develops instructional materials tailored to diverse learners in a high school setting.
• Communicates regularly with parents about student progress.
• Supervises clinical training experiences and may work off-site or in labs.
• Plans and supervises work-experience programs and coordinates with staff.
