Job summary

Community Medical Services in Alaska is urgently hiring a Nurse to administer medications to patients recovering from addictions. In your role as a dosing nurse, you’ll work under the Clinic Manager to conduct testing, maintain medication inventory, audit records, and assist medical providers in delivering a safe place for anyone seeking recovery with us.

The position follows a Monday–Friday 6am–1pm schedule, every other Saturday 6am–10am, with pay of $38–$43 per hour.

Qualifications

• Licensed LPN or RN in the state of employment.
• CPR certification required.
• Must be able to travel to CMS sites.
• Valid Driver License and MV clearance.
• Experience in substance use disorders preferred.
• Knowledge of signs of intoxication and opioid withdrawal.
• Accurate medication administration and record-keeping.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as ordered by a CMS medical provider.
• Monitor dosage-related symptoms and substance-use related concerns.
• Obtain vital signs, blood and urine samples.
• Process point-of-care urine drug screens.
• Maintain accurate client records in CMS EHR system.
• Deliver medications to external facilities.
• Maintain medication inventory and order supplies.
• Adhere to regulations and document medication errors.
• Arrange dosing for temporary clients.
• Administer CPR if necessary.
