Job summary

UHC United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV is seeking a Professional Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care in an inpatient setting. You will work under the supervision of the overseeing role and collaborate with physicians and health care teams to implement the patient’s plan of care.

The role requires an active LPN license, BLS certification within 30 days of hire, and at least 1 year of LPN experience. Fast-paced environment with exposure to biohazards and shift flexibility.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the state where services will be provided or multi-state LPN license through eNLC.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire date.
• State criminal background check and Federal checks as required for regulated areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as per the patient’s plan of care or as directed by the overseeing role.
• Perform designated therapeutic procedures as needed.
• Observe, document and report patient concerns, symptoms and progress promptly.
• Assist physicians and overseeing role with examinations and procedures.
• Contribute to nursing assessment by collecting and reporting data.
• Monitor patient condition and report deviations from normal health status.
• Participate in developing the patient’s plan of care and identify care priorities.
• Assist in patient and family education and rehabilitation per the teaching plan.
