Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join its Surgical Services team in Charlotte, NC. The role supports patient care across exam rooms, labs and clinical areas, under physician guidance.

Responsibilities include vitals, specimen handling, IV therapy support, medication administration and patient education. A current LPN license and BLS are required within 45 days, with no prior experience needed for this entry-level posting.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state of practice and BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA) within 45 days unless exempted.
• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Experience is not required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room the patient for exam by obtaining vitals and documenting health information.
• Perform laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and infection control.
• Assist physician with procedures and surgeries (e.g., pelvic exams, scar testing).
• Administer medications under physician orders, including immunizations and insulin.
• Initiate and manage IV therapy within scope; administer fluids with pre-mixed meds.
• Provide patient education on tasks, treatment and self-care.
• Document and communicate patient information and care plans to team.
• Maintain exam rooms, labs, and equipment; assist with transfers and mobility.
