Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 45 days unless exempt.
• Completion of an accredited or approved Practical Nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patients for exams; obtain vital signs and document health information.
• Perform laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and infection control guidelines.
• Assist physician with procedures and surgeries under supervision.
• Administer medications per orders; initiate and manage IV therapy within scope.
• Provide patient education and coordinate test requests, referrals and follow-ups.
• Communicate with physicians and care team; document patient status timely.
• Perform advanced clinical tasks such as sutures, catheterization, EKG, and wound care under supervision.
• Organize exam rooms and laboratories; maintain equipment and supplies.
• Complete routine maintenance and sterilization of instruments and tools.
• Participate in patient-centered initiatives and quality improvement activities.
• Provide age-appropriate care and adapt to life span needs per department policies.
