Job summary

CSL Plasma in Port Arthur, TX seeks a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis. Under general supervision, you will interview donors, perform medical history reviews, and determine eligibility to donate plasma.

You will provide limited emergency medical care, respond to medical questions with the Center Medical Director, review test results, counsel donors on reactive findings, and escalate critical cases per SOPs.

Qualifications

• Paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic training.
• For foreign medical grads, must be licensed as physician or EMT certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donor suitability.
• Advise staff on donor suitability in conjunction with Center Medical Director.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer for follow-up as needed.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician or local medical providers.
