Job summary

CSL Plasma in Port Arthur, Texas, is seeking a Paramedic to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis and provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. You will review test results and escalate critical medical situations to appropriate medical staff.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must be licensed or certified as EMER in state.
• For NY: must hold current licensure or certification for RN/MD/DO or reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one year relevant healthcare experience.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood center preferred.
• Ability to perform physical assessments (heart, lungs, signs of drug use).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews for suitability.
• Consult with Center Medical Director on donor suitability questions.
• Review test results and assess continued donor suitability; counsel on reactive results.
• Escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician as required.
