Job summary

CSL Plasma in Houston, TX is seeking qualified clinical staff to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and provide limited emergency medical care. You will interview donors, review medical history, and work with the Center Medical Director to address donor questions about suitability.

Responsibilities include reviewing test results, counseling donors on reactive results, and escalating critical cases per SOPs.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, PA, chiropractic, medical school, or naturopathic program.
• If graduation is from foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also be licensed as a physician or state EMT certification.
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you apply for or in a reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medication or treatments per licensure or certification.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donor suitability.
• In conjunction with Center Medical Director, respond to medically related questions and donor suitability.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms affecting donation capability.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer donors to community facilities for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician or local medical providers as required.
