Job summary

CSL is seeking a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis and provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. You will interview donors, review medical history, and collaborate with Center Medical Director on donor suitability.

You will respond to medical questions and escalate critical situations as needed. The role requires licensure or certification as a healthcare provider, with prior experience in a clinical or regulated blood/plasma

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must be licensed as a physician or state EMT.
• For NY: licensure or certification as RN/MD/DO in the state you apply or reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one year of relevant healthcare experience.
• Experience in plasma or whole blood collection center or regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to assess physical signs including heart and lung sounds, signs of drug use.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine suitability to donate plasma.
• Respond to medically related questions and inform staff on donor suitability.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer donors for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs and escalate critical medical situations as required.
