Health Advocates Network, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for night shift in Waverly, VA to provide direct patient care in a correctional setting under supervision.

The role requires an active VA LPN license, at least 1 year of recent LPN experience, EMR documentation, and adherence to infection control and safety standards; competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted VA LPN license in good standing.
• At least 1 year of LPN experience within the last 3 years.
• PSV verification from licensing board may be required.
• Certifications: BLS, N95 fit test, immunizations, TB test as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN/physician supervision.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes promptly.
• Assist with assessments and care plans.
• Perform wound care and basic nursing procedures.
• Document care in EMR accurately.

Shift Details:

• Night shift 7.00pm - 7.30am

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician.

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

• Monitor and record patients' vital signs and report changes in condition.

• Assist with patient assessments and implement individualized care plans.

• Perform wound care, specimen collection, and other basic nursing procedures.

• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).

• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and treatment plans.

• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients.

• Follow facility policies, infection control protocols, and regulatory standards..

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted VA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.

• Minimum of 1+ year within the last 3 years of recent experience as a LPN

• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., . BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test,)
