Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Walla Walla, WA to provide direct patient care in a correctional setting. Day and night shifts available; wage is local pay and W2 tax status.

Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring vital signs, wound care, EMR documentation, and patient education. WA license, 1+ year LPN experience, and required certifications such as BLS are essential.

Qualifications

• Current, valid Washington LPN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year of LPN experience within the last 3 years.
• Copy of PSV from licensing board or verification agency if required.
• Copy of current required certifications (e.g., BLS, immunization records, TB test).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of a RN or physician.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and record vital signs; report changes.
• Assist with patient assessments and care plans.
• Perform wound care and specimen collection.
• Document patient care in EMR accurately.
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and treatment plans.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Maintain a safe, clean, therapeutic environment; follow policies and infection control protocols.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician.

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

• Monitor and record patients' vital signs and report changes in condition.

• Assist with patient assessments and implement individualized care plans.

• Perform wound care, specimen collection, and other basic nursing procedures.

• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).

• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and treatment plans.

• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients.

• Follow facility policies, infection control protocols, and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted Washington license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.

• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a LPN within the last 3 years.

• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., . BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test,...).
