Wexford Health Sources, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Western Virginia Regional Jail in Salem, VA.

The position offers day shift opportunities and a hands-on role delivering care under RNs and medical providers. You will administer medications, monitor vital signs, perform wound care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support the health and dignity of justice-involved patients.

Qualifications

• Active unrestricted LPN license in state of practice.
• 1–2 years of nursing experience (correctional experience preferred).
• Active CPR certification.
• Strong clinical and communication skills; adaptability in high-pressure settings.
• A compassionate, nonjudgmental approach to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Assist with activities of daily living and therapeutic interventions.

FACILITY: Western Virginia Regional Jail

LOCATION: Salem, VA

PAY RATE: $34.00/hr. to $36.00/hr.

Position Summary

As an LPN at our facility, you'll play a hands-on role in delivering care to a vulnerable population under the guidance of RNs and medical providers. Some responsibilities include:

• Administering medications and treatments as ordered
• Assisting with activities of daily living and therapeutic interventions
• Taking vital signs and monitoring patient conditions
• Providing wound care and changing dressings
• Supporting documentation and care planning
• Promoting hygiene, sanitation, and a safe environment for all patients
• Serving as a vital part of a multidisciplinary treatment team
