Job summary

Dayton Physicians Network is seeking a compassionate LPN to join the Atrium Medical Center clinic location. The role involves patient flow management, medication administration, vital signs, and EMR documentation, with responsibilities across the oncology care setting.

The position features a Monday–Friday schedule, 8:00am–4:30pm, no weekends or holidays, and opportunities for growth, competitive benefits, PTO, 401K, and bonus programs. Float to other oncology locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in the practicing state(s).
• 1 year of prior LPN experience is required.
• 2–4 years of experience is preferred.
• Current CPR certification, or obtain within 60 days of employment and maintain thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist with patient flow.
• Administer medications and procedures as directed by physician/practitioners.
• Record vital signs and report abnormalities to physician.
• Document medical history and allergies in the EMR.
• Communicate test results and follow-up needs to patients as directed.
• Maintain logs and supplies; manage biohazard waste as directed.

May need to float to other Oncology office locations as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greets patients and assists with patient flow;
• Administers medications, performs procedures directed by physician and practitioners
• Assists with preparatory activities such as taking and documenting vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height and weight, and communicates abnormalities to physician or practitioner;
• Reviews and documents patient medical history including medications, allergies, and medical alerts, documents in the electronic medical record;
• Contact patients with lab and test results and indicates required follow-up, as directed;
• Documents all medical contacts;
• Assists physician and practitioners with relaying instructions to patients and families;
• Replenishes supplies and removes biohazard waste from patient rooms as directed;
• Maintains any necessary logs;
• Participates in professional development activities to keep current with job responsibilities;
• Follow all health care privacy and safety rules and adheres to Dayton Physicians Core Values;
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• This position required an active LPN license the state(s) of practice.
• One (1) year of previous experience as an LPN.
• 2-4 years' experience is preferred.
• Current CPR certification, if not it must be obtained within 60 days of employment and kept current thereafter.
